My Story

Hi, I’m Emma.

I’m a mum of three, a primary school teacher, and the founder of Little Desk Books.

Some of my favourite childhood memories were made with a book in my hands. The stories I loved weren’t just something I read, they became part of my imagination and stayed with me long after I turned the last page. They sparked curiosity, inspired adventure, and created moments with my family that I’ll always remember.

As a teacher, I've seen how the right book could light up a child’s imagination. I have also learned that children are far more likely to fall in love with reading when a story captures their heart, rather than simply trying to teach them a lesson.

When I became a mum, I wanted to create those same magical moments with my own children. The moments where we curled up together, laughed, wondered, and stepped into another world for just a little while.

Why Little Desk Books?

Every great story begins somewhere.

For me, it begins at my little desk.

A place where ideas are scribbled onto paper, characters come to life, and imagination is given room to grow. It’s where dreams are quietly nurtured before they’re shared with the world.

Every story I create is designed to spark imagination, encourage connection, and become part of family traditions. I hope my books are the ones your children ask you to read “just one more time,” the ones that are treasured on the bookshelf long after they’ve outgrown them.
